Hypnotism And Healing

The power of the mind is something that you need to understand and it has been used for many applications around the world. The medicinal community is an entity that has had a keen interest in the power of the mind and how it can help the human being. So far, many discoveries have been made regarding the power of the brain, and one of the major interests in this topic is how the mind can actually help with healing. You need to know that more than 75% of the mind is undiscovered, and there is still more research to be done on this, but the good news is that there has been some progress with the power of tools like hypnotism to actually increase the healing power of the body. Healing is something that comes naturally in the body, and it is the mechanism within the body that allows for anything wrong to be corrected. But sometimes, the body heals too slow, and sometimes, because of factors like age, we do not heal as fast as possible. Now this is where the mind comes in. The mind actually is a powerful entity and can actually increase the healing process within the mind. There has been plenty of research into this area and you need to know that the results have been more than a little heartening. More and more people have experienced that their bodies have actually increased its healing properties, increased the growth hormone levels and the activities of the anti bodies within the human body itself. One thing you need to know about is that you can do this on your own with a little help from hypnotism. What happens in that process is that during the hypnotic stage, your subconscious mind is subjected to stimulation, and then person doing the hypnosis will plant messages in your mind. These are articulated messages that will allow the mind to understand and realise that there is a need for accelerated healing. Another way that this happens is that doctors sometimes often use a placebo to trick the body to healing, as the visual also plays a really important role here. Once we believe that we are still taking the medicine, the mind will initiate the processes of healing that would previously need some sort of chemical trigger. This is done because the doctors want to encourage the mind to initiate the healing process on its own. As you can see, the research into this has been extensive and you need to be aware that there are softwares all over the internet that actually allow you to initiate this on your own. You do not need to get a hypnotist to do this for you, and all you need to do actually is to get some subliminal software, that uses a much easier approach and allows you to implant positive messages into your subconscious mind, giving you the same accelerated healing results.  You cannot deny the power of hypnotism and healing and how you can benefit from it. Hypnosis Spiral and Other Methods to Induce Hypnotic Trance

Dec 7th, 2009 by

Hypnosis is a light “trance”–a state somewhere between sleeping and waking. People in a hypnotic trance are typically very focused on one stimulus to the exclusion of others. People in a hypnotic trance are also somewhat suggestible, although they are by no means unable to control themselves and continue to bear full responsibility for their actions.
There are several ways to induce a hypnotic trance. Some of the more popular ones include the hypnosis spiral, the use of an object that glitters such as a piece of jewelry or a gold watch, and progressive relaxation.
Hypnosis Spiral
As the title suggests, a hypnosis spiral is a constantly moving spiral pattern. Hypnosis spirals are available on many websites dealing with trance induction. Some of them are available for free download; others must be purchased. Once you have obtained a hypnosis spiral, induce trance by having your subject keep his or her eyes on it for several minutes. While the subject is doing this, you can deepen the trance by playing relaxing music or offering suggestions that the subject is becoming sleepy, that his or her limbs and eyelids are becoming heavy, etc.
A hypnosis spiral can also be used to test a person’s ability to be hypnotized. Have your would-be subject watch the spiral for thirty seconds. After that, have your subject look at the palm of his or her hand. If the subject sees no abnormalities in the spiral or the hand, he or she will probably be quite difficult to hypnotize. On the other hand, the subject who sees the spiral start to change colors and sees an increase in size in his or her hand is probably quite suggestible and easy to hypnotize.
Bright Objects
Another way to induce trance is to hold a bright object, such as a sparkly piece of jewelry, just above the subject’s eye level and tell the subject to keep his or her eyes on it. Eventually, the eyes will become weary and the eyelids will become heavy. The hypnotist then steps in with suggestions that the subject is feeling sleepy, cannot keep his or her eyes open, etc.
Progressive Relaxation
A final way to induce hypnotic trance, favored in the psychotherapeutic and medical community, is progressive relaxation. Speaking in a calm, authoritative voice, the hypnotist instructs the subject to first tense, then relax, every major muscle group starting with the toes. By the time the hypnotist reaches the muscles in the neck and face, the subject will be in a deep, relaxed trance. The Truth About Hypnotic Mind Control

Dec 4th, 2009 by

When you are considering some mental improvement techniques, you might have come across things like hypnotic mind control, and this article is really your red flag against choosing it because of the nature how it goes about trying to reprogramme the mind. What you need to know is how this technology is really unfocused when it tries to manage its own elements, and how there are more alternatives you can turn to. Psyche programming has in truth engaged its beginnings from vistas of brainpower investigation, and this comes in about when experts and psychical doctors were all interested to experience how the intellectual capacity truly operates. Because of the extending of technological fact and applied science all over the universe, more and more people all over the universe experienced that we were only using a little percentage of the brainpower, and it was time that somebody did something about it and put a light in the darkness. There was no question in the mightiness of the brainpower, and searching at the true reports and studies that were coming out of many places of the Earth, this opinion was becoming more solid. Mind-sperts were beginning to wonder just what transformed in the learning ability when placed in harsh positions, and how they can really practice this, reversal engineer the whole procedure and possibly unlock the enigmas of the Mind and give people the ability over their own Psyche and physical structure.  The investigation really unwrapped the aforementioned fact that people and their mastermind pretended very differently over the monstrous of the day, and when this materialised, the brainpower was something that could be measured. But of course, all of this is not possible when it comes to things like hypnotic mind control, and the very reason for this is that the entire ability of hypnotism is not able focus on the exact sciences of the brain and reverse engineer this to a solution for you. The stunning matter about this is that the natural action of the studying ability was to a greater extent than a little outstanding, and there were instruments that were and still able to pick up the impulses and data from the nerve cells in the intelligence. This meant that there were now vehicles for the scientists to channelize around the secrets of the mastermind to find new and original ways that they could capitalize on the mastermind and endue mortals all over the globe. And this is what led the revolution against the whole concepts of hypnotic mind control. The science that was behind all of this. To truly look at it, you should have things like brainwave entrainment as a benchmark as well, and it allows you to be able to know what we are talking about here. One of the things that technology versus hypnotism is that you can measure these results and from there, you would be able to know just how much of the methods can work and why hypnotism is yesterday’s news. Hypnosis Lessons – The Truth about Hypnotism and Online Hypnosis Lessons

Dec 3rd, 2009 by

There are countless people offering hypnosis lessons online, but you should spend some time evaluating what they offer before committing your time and money. The quality of these courses varies widely, and, unfortunately, many of them are scams that will teach you very little but cost you plenty. In order to avoid enrolling in a course that fails to meet your needs, consider the following points. First, be clear about your goals when researching hypnosis lessons. Are you looking to learn self-hypnosis primarily, or are you interested in helping others? Do you prefer a more practical approach that emphasizes techniques or you attracted by a theoretical approach that explains much of the background and research done on hypnosis? Knowing your answer to these questions will help you target the kind of course that is right for you. Second, avoid hypnosis lessons that seem to promise more than they can possibly deliver. Some courses promise to show you how to deceive others into doing what you want, but anyone who offers this kind of approach to hypnotism should be discredited. Using hypnosis in this way is not only ineffective, but also unethical. Also, any course that suggests that hypnosis can completely change your life with very little effort should be suspect. Different people react to hypnotic suggestion with different effectiveness and different time frames, so no one technique works for everyone. Courses which imply total effectiveness are beginning by lying to you, so they will probably provide false information within the course as well. Third, avoid any hypnosis lessons that dress it up in magical or mystical garb. Giving a psychic or spiritual flair to hypnotism may attract people who will waste their money on gimmicks, but it is certainly a sign that you are not dealing with a professional who knows about the real psychological or psychiatric background to hypnotism. Finally, remember that the best hypnotism lessons will offer a number of techniques, not a single perfect method. Different people respond to suggestions and enter hypnotic states in different ways, and anyone who promises a magic key is selling you short. The best courses will instruct you in a number of methods of hypnotism from the informal to the highly technical so that you can be prepared for any number of situations and subjects. The best hypnosis lessons use the practice in an ethical and caring way for all of us to improve our lives. Anyone who offers miracle cures should be ignored. Hypnosis is a proven therapeutic technique that is available to be learned by anyone with the patience to understand a new outlook on the human mind. Still, we should approach it with humility and respect since we should remember that we are dealing with very sensitive aspects of human psychology. Any hypnosis lessons to seem to disregard this respect are not worth your time nor your money. Did you know that you can hypnotize people without them even knowing? How To Not Get Into A Hypnotic Trance

Dec 1st, 2009 by

Now there is a reason for this unusual title, and we will be explaining this quite soon. In essence, the reason that this article is titled such is for the simple reason that we are not supporting the use of hypnotism to improve your mental stature, and this is because of several reasons that we are going to get into here. For one thing, there is no such thing as a hypnotic trance, and what ever you have heard about hypnotism has been cheesed up by pop culture, popular TV and of course, by reading on them by books written by people who are trying to sell their own hypnotic techniques. Now, this has been going on for a long time and it is time to place a stop on this, in the sense that there are much better ways out there for you to actually get into the whole game of mental and self improvement, and if you just have a quick look on the internet, what you can see is really one of the most interesting things about the whole hypnotic thing is that the literature on this subject is quite backwards, and the one thing that you would notice about this, is that there is nothing new about the whole technology. The people who are actually touting this method of mental improvement are just resting their laurels on simple methodologies and tried and tested techniques, and they have run past their due date when compared to the new technologies that have risen about these past few years. Hypnotism is old, and there is nothing much to say about it except that it is not measurable, there are less and less people who are advocating it, there is no way to track and there are no deliverables on the whole process that you can see at all. For one thing, if you compare this to something like – let’s say – brainwave entrainment, then you have a horse of a different colour right there. What you will get is a method where you can actually track the brainwave patterns in your head and use specific scientific engineered beats to bring about the functions of the mind that allow you to improve the very aspects of your being. And they are not limited to just your own subconscious, you can increase your growth hormone levels, you can heal yourself faster, you can improve your creative levels, acuity, focus and even learn better -  and the good thing about this is that more and more people are benefitting from this technology in every way possible. So in every sense of the word, you need to snap yourself out of the hypnotic trance that you are in and wake up to the new levels of technology that you would be able to take advantage of. In the end of the day, you will be able to realise a new you in a matter of weeks and become a better person. Click Here to get your Free “Success Accelerator” Brainwave Cd today! Hypnotic Induction

Nov 25th, 2009 by

We view hypnotherapy as a process whereby we help people utilize their own mental associations, memories, and life potentials to achieve their own therapeutic goals. Hypnotic suggestion can facilitate the utilization of abilities and potentials that already exist within a person but that remain unused or underdeveloped because of a lack of training or understanding. The hypnotherapist carefully explores a patient’s individuality to ascertain what life learnings, experiences, and mental skills are available to deal with the problem. The therapist then facilitates an approach to trance experience wherein the patient may utilize these uniquely personal internal responses to achieve therapeutic goals.

Our approach may be viewed as a three-stage process:

(1) a period of preparationduring which the therapist explores the patients repertory of life experiences and facilitates constructive frames of reference to orient the patient toward therapeutic change;

(2) an activation and utilization of the patient’s own mental skills during a period of therapeutic trance;

(3) a careful recognition, evaluation, and ratification of the therapeutic change that takes place. In this first chapter we will introduce some of the factors contributing to the successful experience of each of these three stages.

The initial phase of hypnotherapeutic work consists of a careful period of observation and preparation. Initially the most important factor in any therapeutic interview is to establish a sound rapport – that is, a positive feeling of understanding and mutual regard between therapist and patient. Through this rapport therapist and patient together create a new therapeutic frame of reference that will serve as the growth medium in which the patient’s therapeutic responses will develop. The rapport is the means by which therapist and patient secure each others’ attention. Both develop a yes set, or acceptance of each other. The therapist presumably has a well developed ability to observe and relate; the patient is learning to observe and achieve a state of response attentiveness , that state of extreme attentiveness in responding to the nuances of communication presented by the therapist.

In the initial interview the therapist gathers the relevant facts regarding the patient’s problems and the repertory of life experiences and learnings that will be utilized for therapeutic purposes. Patients have problems because of learned limitations. They are caught in mental sets, frames of reference, and belief systems that do not permit them to explore and utilize their own abilities to best advantage. Human beings are still in the process of learning to use their potentials. The therapeutic transaction ideally creates a new phenomenal world in which patients can explore their potentials, freed to some extent from their learned limitations. As we shall later see, therapeutic trance is a period during which patients are able to break out of their limited frameworks and belief systems so they can experience other patterns of functioning within themselves. These other patterns are usually response potentials that have been learned from previous life experience but, for one reason or another, remain unavailable to the patient. The therapist can explore patients’ personal histories, character, and emotional dynamics, their field of work, interests, hobbies, and so on to assess the range of life experiences and response abilities that may be available for achieving therapeutic goals. Will Hypnotic Suggestion Suppress Your Appetite?

Nov 23rd, 2009 by

Hypnotism, thanks to television and movies, the very word conjures up the picture of a beady-eyed hypno-therapist swinging a watch and chanting, “You are getting sleepy.”
Do an Internet search, and you will find hundreds of thousands of web pages devoted to the subject, especially weight loss hypnosis. Unfortunately, many websites that sell hypnosis programs for weight loss make wild, unsubstantiated claims. I’ve been in professional practice since 1978. So I think that I’m larger than equipped to set the record straight on weight loss hypnosis.
First of all, posthypnotic suggestion is a tool, just like a scalpel is a tool. Just as varied surgeons have diversified skill levels in the use of a scalpel, diversified hypnotists have different skill levels in the use of hypnotherapy for weight loss. And to complicate the matter, there are many noteworthy forms and types of posthypnotic suggestion.
Here are some of the assertions about weight loss hypnosis that I’ve seen on websites, along with the truth of the matter:
“Hypnosis for weight loss will speed up your metabolism.” If you want to know the total truth, the fact of the matter is that weight loss hypnosis cannot directly speed up your metabolism. But it can be very compelling at helping to program your subconscious with increased motivation to exercise, and that can increase your metabolic rate. Similarly, suggestibility to speed up the metabolism for quick weight loss can be effected by programming the unconscious to motivate the intake of increased amounts of protein, because that intake will step up the metabolic rate.
Posthypnotic suggestion will make you slim down. This is false. But weight loss hypnosis can be used to help eliminate your appetite, so that you eat less, and eating less can help you to get rid of weight.
The average person’s cravings and urges are triggered by two unconscious programs:
A. When you pair eating with any other behavior, the other behavior will trigger cravings for food and a strong urge to eat. This is called a conditioned response. For example, if you eat when you watch a movie, you will automatically get an urge to eat each time you go to the movies.
B. When you feel tense, you feel a strong urge to put food into your mouth for relaxation. This is the result of training that you received as a baby. When you got cranky, your mother or father put a bottle in your mouth. You got distracted, relaxed, and probably fell asleep. Now when you get cranky (anxious or tense), you feel compelled to put something into your mouth for relaxation and pleasure.
C. There is a third unconscious program that is present for some people. It’s called emotional eating. Emotional eating takes place when an individual is motivated to make him or herself fat, because by being fat they will protect themselves in some way.
For example, if someone got their heart broken in a relationship, their unconscious will drive them into a behavior that would prevent them from getting their heart broken again. Example: They are motivated to get fat to keep them out of new relationships, because that will eliminate the possibility of another broken heart.
D. I have written several articles on weight loss hypnosis and compulsive eating that are available on my website. There are some effective ways to use hypnotism to overcome emotional eating.
So just how can weight loss hypnosis fix the above problems? Let’s cover them one at a time.
In paragraph “A” above: Conditioned responses can be “eliminated” quickly and easily using a avenue that I call the “Flash.” The flash trains the unconscious mind to setup new responses. In the above example, the subject had unconsciously combined the impression of food in the hand, with the TV. Each time he / she sat down to watch the TV, the unconscious mind filled in the missing part of the depiction: It “Flashed” the picture of the food in the hand, and the subject felt a urge, and an urge to eat.
The Flash is a scheme that lets us program the subconscious to use the visualization of the TV as a trigger for a visualization of yourself watching TV without eating. When we lose the image of the food, we lose the cravings.
When we momentarily disassociate (see ourselves from the point of view that another person would), we are not able to sense our feelings (cravings and urges).
When we see ourselves in a behavior (watching TV without eating), we feel a strong compulsion to generate that behavior. So the subject loses the cravings, and actually gets a compulsion to reject food.
In paragraph “B” above: The subject is eating and drinking for relaxation and pleasure. We teach the subject self-hypnosis for weight loss, because the very essence of the hypnotic state is deep relaxation.
And we utilize the “Flash” to program the subconscious to use the mental images and thoughts that are triggering feelings of annoyance and nervous tension, as triggers for secondary mental pictures and thoughts that will trigger the relaxation response. When the subject feels more relaxed overall, oral cravings are greatly diminished.
In paragraph “C” above: We discussed impulsive eating which makes the person overweight. The “behavior” of being overweight then provides some sort of emotional protection. So we use a scheme called an NLP Six-Step Reframe, which programs the subconscious to be responsible for making the subject automatically substitute some other more acceptable behavior that will provide the same emotional protection, in place of being overweight. And that reframe will abandon the compulsion to eat for emotional purposes.
Self-hypnosis for weight loss can be a very useful technique. I can only uncover the tip of the iceberg in this short article. Please see my website for more comprehensive articles and information.

How To Hypnotize – The Techniques

Nov 21st, 2009 by

The induction is the process that helps people go into a state of hypnosis, where they will be more susceptible to suggestion, and where their unconscious mind will take messages onboard. People choose to go into this state because they want to achieve a certain change or improvement in a specific part of their lives, usually.
How a hypnotist carries out an induction can vary greatly. Different techniques work well for different people. There can be hundreds or even thousand of induction scripts or approaches.
In therapeutic hypnosis, known as hypnotherapy, we generally use a technique we call progressive relaxation. This means helping the person to become progressively more and more relaxed until they eventually fall into the state of hypnosis. It’s a gradual process, helped along by suggestions of continued relaxation. I’ll ask them to close their eyes, of course, and then ask them to start to take some nice long deep breaths. This really helps to relax people.
One way that I find very effective in getting people to relax is to have them concentrate on different muscles, or different body parts. Obviously when you do this, you naturally become more relaxed. I like to start with their heads, face and neck muscles, and work my way down, along their entire body, focusing on one muscle or body part at a time, until they are completely relaxed, literally from head to toe. You could do it the other way around I suppose. I choose to work downward as it correlates with sinking deeper into total relaxation. We always refer to that process as going down, further down. So I just prefer to use the technique working downward.
The hypnosis induction technique that most people would be familiar with is obviously what they’ve seen in stage hypnosis. That’s a very different approach from therapeutic, hypnotherapy inductions. In stage hypnosis they use a very authoritarian approach, very direct induction. They have to. They need to keep a crowd of several hundred people entertained, which necessitates impact. Plus there is a visual impact achieved when a hypnotist executes an induction, a very sharp, direct induction, and the subject falls to the floor or otherwise gives some defining visual signal that he’s hypnotized.
The handshake induction is somewhat commonly recognized as well, but in reality, a stage hypnotist would not attempt this technique without first assuring himself that the subject is already hypnotized, or at least highly susceptible.
In hypnotherapy we have no need to make a visual impression on an audience. The same is true of self hypnosis recordings. In self hypnosis recordings a laid back approach is used, composed of many different elements, and is usually based on the theory of progressive relaxation. It is highly effective. Try it for yourself! Provillus Hair Treatment

Self Hypnosis – Hypnotize Yourself For Relaxation

Nov 21st, 2009 by

Self hypnosis is known to be a proven tool for self improvement. It is known to rejuvenate the entire being, at both the physical and mental level and lead to a sense of overall well being. No wonder it is finding an increasing number of takers days. This type of hypnosis is particularly useful in today’s modern world when time is at a premium and many people don’t find enough time to travel to a hypnotherapists place. This being the case self hypnosis is of immense help since it can be done right in the comforts of one’s home.
This method of hypnosis helps in developing natural abilities and also in modifying or altogether leaving certain habits. For instance quitting smoking is something that many smokers find extremely difficult. It is during such instances that self hypnosis can be of great help. Using the techniques of this form of hypnosis, the message that smoking is harmful and therefore it is best to quit the habit can be sent to a smoker’s subconscious mind. Once the smokers were to come out of the hypnotic trance, he or she would automatically not have any craving for smoking.
Even health is known to be improved through self hypnosis. This is so because one can easily develop a healthier lifestyle with this type of hypnosis. A combination of this type of hypnosis along with a healthy diet can work wonders for your health. There have been instances when even certain stubborn diseases such as psoriasis have been completely cured with this type of hypnosis. This is possible since a complete re-programming of the mind in a positive manner is something that can be done with hypnosis.
These days there are various kinds of mass-produced media available which can help you out with self hypnosis. From tapes to mp3 and videos you can find an entire array of products that can help you out with this type of hypnosis. Getting a DVD on the topic is a good way to get hypnotized by yourself. Such a DVD is a great way to relax and enjoy. Excepting for the fact that there is no live hypnotist involved, the rest of the hypnosis process would be the same with a hypnosis DVD.
With the advent of the internet you can also find hypnosis downloads using which you can try this method which involves hypnotizing oneself without going to a hypnotist. You can more often than not find such videos being offered for free at many online sources. Hypnosis – The Hypnotic State of Consciousness

Nov 19th, 2009 by

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness and may also be known as hypnotic suggestion or hypnotherapy. The hypnotic state of consciousness is very different from your day to day state of awareness and is typically achieved through the aid of a hypnotherapist. When one is under hypnosis, his attention tends to be more focused, he becomes more responsive to suggestions and becomes less critical and more open. This openness to suggestion may be used to improve one’s health and well being.
How hypnosis works is not totally clear. However, hypnosis affects the way the brain communicates with the body through hormones, body chemicals, and nerve impulses. Hypnosis is used as a therapeutic technique to help individuals gain more control over their emotions, behavior and physical well-being. It is said that hypnosis quiets the mind, creating a deep state of relaxation. People who are hypnotized then become able to deeply concentrate on specific thoughts, memories, feelings and sensations while blocking out distractions that may be present.
Hypnotic therapy may be used to relieve many symptoms of a variety of conditions. It may be used by it self or in conjunction with other types of treatments. According to some preliminary studies, hypnosis has the potential to change negative behaviors like overeating and smoking. It may be used to diminish one’s stress, anxiety, fear, and the intensity of phobias. Hypnosis has also been shown to reduce the pain during labor and childbirth, control pain during surgical procedures, decrease blood pressure levels and the intensity of migrains, control side effects of chemotherapy such as vomiting and nausea, speed up the healing process for diseases such as psoriasis and some forms of dermatitis.
The use of hypnosis does present potential solutions to a lot of symptoms for a wide variety of diseases and conditions; however, hypnosis by itself is not guaranteed to cure the disease itself. It is generally used as part of a comprehensive treatment program.
Hypnosis works best when the individual undergoing this type of treatment is open to it and is very motivated. A well trained therapist also helps. When choosing a therapist, finding a certified lay hypnotherapist may be the best idea as hypnosis is not regulated. You may also opt to undergo hypnosis with the help of doctors, social workers, and psychologists who have received training related to hypnotic therapy.
It is important to remember that hypnosis, like all other forms of therapy, may present different results to different individuals. It may work for others but not work on you.
