How Does it Feel to be Hypnotized?
Although a subject put under hypnosis seems to take on the peculiarity of a person sleeping, they are actually extremely alert. Hypnosis is truly tricky to illustrate, as nobody truly knows what is hapenning inside the brain of a hypnotized subject. What we do know is that whilst in trance state the hypnotic subject becomes exceedingly suggestible. A subject`s attention, while they are going into hypnosis, is narrowed down steadily. Firstly, the sense of sight is lost as the subject is told to close their eyes. After some time it is not unusual for the hypnotic subject to lose complete perception of their body. Even though one by one the senses are gradually slipping away, one sense is deeply amplified by the process of induction. This is the sense of hearing. A subject under hypnosis can often hear isolated sounds that they wouldn`t be able to hear in the natural waking state. This, unquestionably, means that through the whole process the subject is able to hear everything that the hypnotist might say. When you begin inducing trance state in people you will regularly find that after awakening the subject, they will suppose they could not have been put under hypnosis as they could still hear your voice. The misconception that they won`t be able to hear your voice frequently comes from those people who consider hypnosis to be like sleep.
A person in the hypnotic state is pretty susceptible to suggestion. One of the main reasons for this is that, whilst in the trance state, you are only able to focus on just one thing at a time. For example, if I were to tell you that you are a delicate ballerina, you would instantaneously compare this hypnotic suggestion with what you already know to be valid, and, unless of course you are a ballerina, you would tell me I am talking nonsense. The hypnotised subject nevertheless is not able to entertain the thought that they may not be what I have suggested, as their inadequate attentiveness is taken up by the thought that they are in fact a pretty ballerina. The consequence, as desired, ends in the subject leaping to their feet to carry out a series of pirouettes across the stage.
The human mind is divided into two extremely diverse sections. The conscious mind, which is accountable for all our conscious thoughts and decisions, and the subconscious mind, which controls our autonomous activity. The mind can be brst labelled as a computer, the subconscious as the processor and the conscious as the monitor and keyboard. Our subconscious mind is a sort of keeper; it watches over our body and helps us to persist.
Though our subconscious can do lots oftasks that consciously might be unmanageable, it also has one very basic feature. Somewhere between our two minds is what we call the critical factor. This is probably best explained as a door, at which is a protector. Our subconscious mind will process anything that enters it no matter how peculiar. So, as long as you can push a suggestion through the door it will be embraced. This is indeed the reason why hypnosis works. The guardian’s door can be thoughtlessly opened while we are under hypnosis. Milos Pesic is a professional hypnotist who runs a highly popular and comprehensiveHypnosis and Self Hypnosis web site. Stage Hypnosis – A Separate Hypnotic Art
Stage hypnosis is also known as entertainment hypnosis; many willing participants are brought on stage and given specific instructions and commands which trigger the minds natural hypnotic response. These participants are often given tasks to complete for entertainment purposes only, and then are told to come out of the state, these people may or may or may not remember what went on.
People are susceptible to stage hypnosis because they want to be, these people often volunteer for the opportunity to be hypnotized in front of people. The person performing the stage hypnosis will often employ a rapid trigger method of hypnosis; by giving short direct commands to the individual they are able to access the subconscious mind quickly and with out much resistance, especially since the person volunteered and wants to be hypnotized.
Another factor to consider is the fact that many people are very susceptible to peer-pressure, and as such may feel even more compelled to follow the entertainer’s suggestions as they feel that is what is expected out of them. This can make accessing the subject’s subconscious mind even easier for the entertainer, and is probably why entertainers often like use stage hypnosis in groups.
Magicians often use stage hypnosis to thrill and amaze their audience, they will use the power of suggestion to convince certain audience members to act a certain way or visualize a certain number to make their tricks seem more real. Some magicians are so good at this, that they are able to hypnotize entire rooms of people at once; using subliminal messaging along with the rapid hypnotism technique is one way magicians can achieve this effect.
People have tried to understand hypnotism since the 1700’s, and even at this time stage hypnosis was sometimes used to entertain at parties. Many people think that this kind of stage hypnosis is mind control; this is not true, the person performing the hypnotism has simply accessed the brain on a subconscious level, and has made influential suggestions, which in turn brought about a specific reaction.
The fact that modern society induces hypnosis so often by watching lots of movies and television, may contribute to the success of entertainer’s ability to perform stage hypnosis; as people are accustomed to letting their conscious minds take a side seat to be absorbed in something else that they find entertaining. Meditation and therapeutic hypnosis can also be more easily achieved do to this fact, though many people do find it difficult to relax enough without the focus of a television or book. How to Secretly Hypnotize Anyone Anytime
It is quite tempting to have an ability to secretly hypnotize anyone anytime. Imagine what it would be like if you could force your girlfriend to share your passion. Maybe you want to watch soccer while she wants to watch volley game. By using hypnosis instead arguing you can smoothly direct her into watching soccer. It is not as hard as you might think; let’s take a look at how to secretly hypnotize anyone anytime.Principle No 1 – Make Her Trust You
In order to successfully hypnotize you target, first thing you must to do is to earn his or her trust. You can’t successfully hypnotize anyone, if the people you want to hypnotize don’t trust you and feel comfortable around you.
You can earn his or her trust in 2 ways: talk as though you are talking with old friend, and the second one is mimicking his or her breath pattern. Mimicking breath pattern is a very advanced technique and can only be done successfully after hundreds of practices. If you can mimic the breath pattern of people you want to hypnotize in the first 5 minutes after meeting her, done in the right way, your subject will feel as though she has known you for years.Principle No 2 – Changing Moods Not Minds
Don’t try to explain why she has to do what you want her to do. Remember in hypnosis field what you want is to change her moods not minds. When her moods agree with you, her minds will find a reason to agree with your suggestion.Principle No 3 – Make a Suggestion
After she has a good mood, the next thing you want to do is giving suggestion. Give her a suggestion what you want her to do. The most effective way to give suggestion according to my experience is by using indirect approach. Say something like this “last week I met a girl that said how much she loves soccer matches.”

How Does Hypnotism Effect People
There are a number of myths surrounding hypnosis and how it works. Some people still believe it’s a form of mind control and brainwashing. I can assure you, it’s not. Hollywood would have us believe that a hypnotist can control you and make you do things that are against your will. Again, not even remotely true.
In reality, hypnosis is not a mystical, mind-control voodoo that you see on TV and stage, but one of the most effective tools for a positive change.
Hypnosis is a natural, normal state of mind that feels similar to daydreaming. It’s a deep state of relaxation and concentration, wherein the mind is always conscious and aware, but more open to the power of suggestion. It works by relaxing the mind and the body, giving you the ability to bypass the conscious, criticizing part of your mind and reveal the matters lying in the subconscious, which may be the cause of many problems.
Hypnosis has been successfully used for reducing stress, eliminating bad habits, overcome phobias, negative thoughts, suppressed emotions, and to deal with many other psychological and also physiological problems.
There is absolutely nothing unnatural about it, we all naturally go in and out of hypnotic states throughout every day. Examples: daydreaming, losing track of time while driving, reading a really engrossing book, playing an instrument, painting, playing a sport (often referred to as being in the zone), and many, many more.
Can everyone be hypnotized? Virtually every person has the natural capacity for response to hypnosis. However nobody can be effected by it against their will. According to the WHO, more than 90% of the general population can be hypnotized.
Although most people can be effected, they vary in their degree of responsiveness, which is called their hypnotizability or hypnotic susceptibility. Hypnotic susceptibility is measured on scales that rate people of their responsiveness to suggestions. People are rated as high, medium, or low. Most people are at least moderately hypnotizable.
There are, of course, people who can not be hypnotized. Those are people with mental difficulties or extremely sub-normal intelligence (low IQ), senile people, people under the influence of drugs or alcohol, young children (under the age of 5), people who are afraid of hypnosis or simply those who are unwilling to cooperate and follow instructions.
It’s a common myth that only the weak minded can be hypnotized. The truth is actually quite the opposite. The best hypnotic subjects are those of above average intelligence who can very easily go into trance due to their sharp concentrating capabilities. You do, in fact, need a reasonable amount of intelligence to be hypnotized.
To summarize, hypnosis is natural, safe, and effective process that can improve your life by enabling you to see things in a new way. You just have to have the desire to do so. For more information on hypnosis and how it can help you, visit How Does Hypnotism Workkeyword software

Continue Reading »Should Stage Hypnotism Be Shunned By Hypnotherapists?
Stage Hypnotism is a subject that is somewhat shunned within the modern day Hypnotherapy profession in the twenty-first century; however that same profession has its roots mainly in the very thing that it shuns. So why is the profession of Hypnotherapy trying to distance itself from the art of Stage Hypnotism – the very thing that helped it to become so very popular? And also, has Stage Hypnotism got any role to play in the modern twenty-first century Hypnotherapy profession? Well within this article I hope to give you something to think about in order to answer these questions for yourselves.
Let’s start right at the beginning of what is considered the commencement of modern day Hypnosis in Europe. To do this we have to start in the small Swabian town of Iznang on the banks of Bodensee (Lake Constance) on the German-Swish border in 1734, with the birth of Franz Anton Mesmer. Mesmer himself was a performer, usually performing his healings in front of vast crowds of people. Mesmer was overly flamboyant and very charismatic. In many people’s eyes, he truly is the father of modern day Hypnosis and the very first Stage Hypnotist! So to begin with you can see just how long Stage Hypnotism and Hypnotherapy have been working together as one!
Next I want to cover the argument that Stage Hypnotism should be distanced from mainstream Hypnotherapy. For a lot of people, the thought portrayed in Stage Hypnotism of the Hypnotist having complete control over them is a scary prospect. In many cases this can actually stop them from getting the help that they so urgently need, to deal with issues that they may have. After much thinking this is the only negative that I can find.
Now on to the argument that Stage Hypnotism does have a place in modern day Hypnosis and should continue to be used. For at least the last one hundred years, Stage Hypnotism has acted as a vehicle to promote the benefits of Hypnotherapy. There is no doubting this fact. Here in the United Kingdom in the nineties we saw a major boost to Hypnotherapy with the introduction of a Stage Hypnotism show on mainstream television. This is even motivating thousands to both seek Hypnotherapy and train as Hypnotherapists still in 2007.
So there you have it – two sides of the argument and the modern day roots of Hypnosis – what do you think? Will Stage Hypnotism continue to get shunned by the Hypnotherapy profession or will it be used to help thousands more people to find the benefits from Hypnotherapy? You decide! Product Review
